Came to PEI for vacation and was looking for a good breakfast joint. Ontop of being coffee lovers this seemed like the perfect little joint. It was very busy when first got there and they had a lot of reservations. We choose to sit and wait for a table. She directed us to the back and said we could sit on the couch and play games if we wanted. What an added bonus as we also love games. We waited about 10 minutes before they came back to let us know they had a table available. They had some great breakfast choices. I ordered the blue berry pancakes with a side of bacon and my partner got the hungry fisher(wo)man. We also ordered two London Fogs. The food and drinks were plated nicely and the food was both hot , fresh tasting and delicious. The decor was cute and inviting as well. Would most definitely go back if we came through or to PEI again.

Best breakfast place to go! Nice decoration with aquarium filled with fish, lots of plants around. Really enjoyed eating my breakfast in this place, feels so zen and calm! Highly recommend!

My husband and have been to Sea Shell Cafe 4 times since they opened. We love the decorations, service and food. My husband has always gotten the Fisher (wo)man's platter with fried eggs and enjoyed them. I was more adventurous and got the french toast once and the Wharf waffles with the works and they were amazing. The Waffles have a sweet crunch in them that sets them apart from other Waffles. My favorite has to be the Captain's Extrodinaire sandwich which I have had twice and looking forward to having again soon. Oh, I also tried the Chai latte on my last visit and it's one of the best I have tasted. We have been a few times on Sunday around 11 which they are really busy so last time we went earlier, around 9, so there wasn't as much of a wait. There still wasn't that much of a wait at their busy time but we wanted to make sure we were able to get a seat. The staff are very friendly and willing to do their best to ensure the experience is a good one. With being opened for less than a month, I think they are doing amazing. They are up for feedback so if there chat to them in person and let them know your thoughts. I near forgot but when uploading pictures from the last time we went with a friend, she got cucumer slices instead of home fries. I thought that was incredible if one wanted to reduce carbs.
SeaShell Cafe. 26152 Rte 2, Travellers Rest Charming cafe-style front room and boasts a large tasteful decorated large second room with wood and comfy furniture. I ordered a good quality homemade tomato soup with a cheese sandwich which had a lot of taste to them. Enjoyed this meal so much that I had it today for a second time. The cinnamon buns were sold out, try to grab one when you’re in the area. I sat at a table for three in front of a colourful fish tank. The menu offers a range of breakfast choices with a couple of lunch items. Fantastic service. It is located midway between Kensington and Summerside on route 2 and has easy parking. Open for Breakfast 7:30 am - 12:30 pm. Every day except Monday.
The Seashell Café is a must restaurant to have breakfast while in PEI! The food was awesome and plentiful. It obvious the owner, Tammy and her staff love what they do, love each other and their clientele. Whether guests are first time visitors or often returning clientele, all will be treated like close family friends. And when finished, will leave content and well fed. But first it’s a must to check out the unique and charming decor.
